Can you recycle candles & wax?
Candle wax (paraffin or soy) isn't recyclable — general waste. The containers are: freeze the jar to pop out remaining wax, wash it, then glass jars go in glass recycling and metal tins with metals. Wicks and trimmings: general waste.
Tips
- Freezing makes stub removal easy
- Melt stubs together into new candles with a wick kit
Which bin does it go in?
Wax is general waste; glass jars recycle once completely wax-free.
Before throwing it away, see reuse, repair and donation routes.
