Can you recycle newspapers?
Newspapers are one of the most valuable and easily recycled household materials and are accepted by every UK council. Keep them clean and dry — newspaper used to wrap fish and chips, soak up spills or line pet cages should go in general waste or the compost. Plastic delivery sleeves should be removed and taken to soft-plastic collection points until kerbside film collection arrives.
Tips
- Remove any plastic wrapping first
- Used pet-cage newspaper can be home composted
