Rinsed pouches to soft-plastic points; general waste if greasy

View saved list

Wet pet-food pouches are multi-layer film. If you can rinse them properly clean, supermarket soft-plastic points accept them, and some brands run take-back schemes (Mars/Whiskas have trialled pouch recycling). Greasy, meaty pouches are general waste. Metal pet-food tins, by contrast, rinse easily and go in kerbside metals.

Tips

  • Tins recycle far more easily than pouches — worth switching
  • Cut pouches open to rinse the corners
