Can you recycle plastic food trays?

Clear PET trays from meat, fruit and ready meals are recyclable at kerbside in most of the UK — rinse off food residue and remove any film lid (soft plastic) and absorbent pad (general waste). Meat trays need a proper rinse; blood-soaked trays and pads are contamination.
