Can you recycle cereal boxes?
Cardboard cereal boxes go in kerbside recycling — just flatten them first. The inner plastic liner bag is soft plastic: scrunch it and take it to a supermarket soft-plastic collection point (kerbside film collection is due across England by March 2027). Boxes with foil-lined interiors (some premium brands) should be checked with the scrunch test.
Tips
- Flatten the box, separate the liner
- Inner bags make good food-storage bags before disposal
Which bin does it go in?
