Can you recycle white spirit, turps and solvents?

Solvents like white spirit, turpentine, methylated spirit and paint thinner are flammable hazardous waste: never pour them down any drain or put them in bins. Take them, sealed and labelled in their original containers, to the household chemical point at your recycling centre. Tip: used white spirit settles — decant the clear liquid to reuse and only dispose of the sludge.
